Smt. Sabita Tamang completed her M.Sc.Nursing specialized in Medical Surgical Nursing (2002) and Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing (1992) from W.B Govt. College of Nursing, SSKM Hospital Campus, Kolkata, under Calcutta University and completed her GNM (1982) from Nursing Training School, Darjeeling Sadar Hospital (Former Victoria Hospital). She has undergone Post certificate training in Oncology Nursing (1989) from Thakurpukur Cancer Centre & Welfare Home, Kolkata.
She has a wide range of experience from clinical to academic in Government of West Bengal. She served as a staff Nurse and O.T Incharge at Various Hospitals of North Bengal. She started her Academic/Teaching career after she was appointed as Sister Tutor at Nursing Training School, Darjeeling. Her career then escalated when she was promoted to Senior Sister Tutor at Nursing Training School, Darjeeling and Senior Lecturer at College of Nursing, Calcatta Medical College. After years of service, she was then promoted and transferred to College of Nursing, NBMCH as Reader and Professor. She retired as a Founder Principal from College of Nursing, NBMCH.
She is currently working as Chief Academic Advisor Cum Principal, Novena College and School of Nursing, Siliguri Since October 2022.
